A quick and easy snack featuring thin, crispy apple slices layered with warm caramel sauce and a peanut butter drizzle, perfect for fall gatherings and a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large crisp apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup pre-made caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts or pecans (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice the apples into thin, uniform rounds about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Immediately toss the apple slices in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to prevent browning. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 20-30 seconds until pourable but not too hot. Stir gently.
  4. Warm the peanut butter in a separate microwave-safe bowl for 15-20 seconds until smooth and drizzle-ready. Thin with a teaspoon of water or milk if needed.
  5. Arrange the apple slices in an overlapping layer on a large serving plate.
  6. Drizzle the warm caramel sauce evenly over the apples, then drizzle the peanut butter on top.
  7. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the nachos and finish with a pinch of sea salt and cinnamon if desired.
  8. Serve immediately to maintain crispness. If needed, cover loosely with plastic wrap to avoid drying out.

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best crispness and flavor. Warm sauces gently in short bursts to avoid burning or separation. Serve immediately for best texture. Store leftovers uncovered in fridge up to 24 hours but expect softer apples. Substitute almond or cashew butter and dairy-free caramel for vegan version.
